Chosen for his participation on the Lowry varsity swim team, Jessie Pate is Athlete of the Week. This is Pate’s third year competing for the swim team, though he also competes on the Lowry soccer team and is a member of the Art Club.
“I’ve been doing pretty good, I’ve beat all my best times from last year,” said Pate.
Pate isn’t the only one who has improved over the season, “The team’s doing really good, I think we’ve won almost half of our meets, which compared to last year is amazing,” commented Pate.
Pate is hopeful to get the opportunity to compete in the state this year, in either the individual medley (IM) or the 100-meter fly.
“The chances of state for me are fairly good, I think,” said Pate.
