This week, junior Anders Pace was selected to be Athlete of the Week. He plays soccer, basketball and baseball, but “he plays baseball February through July,” said coach Ron Espinola.

Coach Epinola chose Pace because he is hitting .465 on the season and had an outstanding week on the field.

“He had two doubles and a single; he had 15 RBIs in the last four games and two home runs against Lovelock,” said coach Espinola. “In addition to his offensive outburst, he has played a great first base and saved us many runs doing so.”

With this being Pace’s third year on varsity baseball, he has improved this season on the pitching mound and has stepped into a starter’s role which has helped release some pressure on the pitching staff.

Being a three-sport athlete Pace is also a great student and a great leader on and off the field, and he has dedicated a lot of time to all his sports.
