Coach Iridiana Gonzalez, the JV girl’s soccer coach, has picked Katlyn Gomez for Athlete of the Week because she has shown hard work and determination throughout the season, she hypes up the team and she always does her best.
“Katlyn Gomez has shown hard work and determination throughout the season,” said Gonzalez. “She likes to pump up the team, especially before a game. Whether winning or losing, Katlyn gives it her all every single time.”
“The sport is really fun and I enjoy it,” said Katlyn.
Defense is a hard job to play in soccer, But if you put in a lot of work you will achieve your job as Katyln has.
Gomez has been committed to soccer since a young age.
“I have been playing since we were old enough to play in AYSO,” said Gomez.
Gomez stays busy outside of soccer and school by riding horses and showing animals.
The soccer program is enjoying success this year. The competition gives her strength and the mindset of a good teammate.
“Running up and down the field makes me feel like a team,” said Gomez.
