Nelson is having a good season and at zone last weekend he came in first place with a 3-0 record for that tournament.
If he qualifies for the second round of state, he is hoping to wrestle against Nick Monty from Spring Creek. For the championship, he will either be wrestling Dolton Johnson from Fallon or a wrestler from Boulder City.
This weekend at zone the team didn’t wrestle its best but still came out on top, winning some matches that they shouldn’t have.
“Apparently we’re doing something right if we have a bad weekend and still come out on top,” said Nelson.
Ryan Nelson and his team will be competing in Reno on the 18 and 19 of February, looking for a three-peat as a team.
