With high hopes for the girl’s team, the same could be said for the boy’s team who returns five players from last years’ runners-up finish at the state tournament and brings in seven new players, including a sophomore. The team this year consists of; Sterling Snow, Grant Miller, Sean Millikan, Will Thacker, Anders Pace, Shane Bell, Dillon Bryan, Jordan Rinas, Dion Wardell, Bryan Noble, Brandon Eastman, and Jesse Studebaker.

“We want to pick up where the team left off last year,” said head coach Chad Peters, who coached Lowry to their last state championship back in 2002.

“We have a lot of returners to be able to do that and a good core of underclassmen to help those guys out,” said Peters.

With seven seniors on the team this year, Peters thinks it’s a little more settling in practice to have all that experience.

Coach Peters is assisted by Vince Mendiola, Dave Schwartz, and Nate Green, all of whom have state championship experience here at Lowry High School, “As far as from a coaching standpoint I have the utmost confidence,” said Peters of his coaching staff.

According to Peters, the league this year will be tougher with the addition of Elko and Fallon, but still plans on getting back to the state championship game and win a state championship.
