Though the game was closer than it should have been, the Lowry boys came out with the win against Dayton on February 13. Dayton won the tip and made a lay-up right off the bat but Lowry’s Jesse Studebaker was quick to respond with a short-range shot of his own.

Lowry scored eight more points in the quarter with the help of David Ugarte-Rodriquez. However, Dayton was close behind six points of their own. The Bucks went into the second quarter barely hanging on to the lead with the score at 10-8.

The second and third quarter was filled with fouling, so much so that Dayton made 11 points off free throws and 10 points off regular shots. Lowry made eight points off free throws and eight points off regular shots.

Lowry went into the fourth and final quarter trailing by one with the score at 35-34. Dayton wasted no time in making a lay-up to further increase their lead however the Bucks came back to score a short-range shot and Skyler Lemm brought Lowry into the lead with a jump shot that brought the score to 39-38.

Dayton continued to pressure the Bucks once again taking away their lead but Lowry fought for control and Chris Miller brought the Bucks back into the lead by sinking two free throws. Dayton tied the Bucks for the lead 48-48 but Cole Erquiaga secured Lowry’s lead with a lay-up and a point off the free throw bringing the score to 51-48.

The game ended with Lowry scoring one more time before the buzzer leaving the score 53-48.

Jesse Studebaker led the Buck with 12 points and the freshman boys finished out their season with a hard-earned win and completed their season with an undefeated record.
