Mike Krzyzewski picked up his 903rd win against the Michigan State Spartans, which makes him the winningest coach in men’s college basketball.

On Saturday, November 12 Coach K tied the record of most wins by a men’s college basketball coach. It was a coincidence that the coach he tied on Tuesday was his mentor, and was once his coach, Bob Knight. Coach K played for Bob Knight at The United States Military Academy from 1966 to 1969; six years later he became the head coach at his alma mater from 1975 to 1980.

Mike Krzyzewski has been at Duke University since 1980, he plans on never leaving the empire he has built at Duke. Coach K has won 13 ACC Tournament Championships, he has led the Blue Devils to 11 Final Four appearances, and four NCAA titles

Coach K recruits the best high school players in the country and turns individual players into one team to create one of the greatest teams in Division 1 college basketball. Krzyzewski is a coach in the college basketball world that is looked upon as a great leader and a fantastic coach. Even though Mike is the all-time winningest boy’s college basketball coach he doesn’t have the most all-time wins in college basketball, Pat Summit has the most all-time wins in all of college basketball.

“The thing I loved the most – and still love the most about teaching – is that you can connect with an individual or a group, and see that individual or group exceed their limits,” said Mike Krzyzewski. (ultimate-youth-basketballguide.com)
