The city of Winnemucca had a meeting about suicide prevention at the Winnemucca Convention Center. At this event, they had guest speakers and resource tables.

On January 28 and 29, at the Winnemucca Convention Center, a town hall meeting was held to discuss suicide prevention. It was sponsored by the city of Winnemucca, Frontier Community Coalition, Humboldt County School District, Community Partners and area churches.

Throughout the many events, there was one very important activity that would let attendees express their fears, concerns, ideas and commitments regarding coping with events that have happened the past few weeks. They separated all the people by age group and had them say their concerns and what would help make the community better.

There were many resource tables from local and state organizations providing some hope and healing for the community. The tables provided many pamphlets, information papers talking about suicide and how you can help our community understand and know how to handle these difficult situations. The people in charge of the tables were very helpful and talked to the youth of all ages along with the many guest speakers who talked to the attendees about the suicide and gave them hotline numbers with people they could talk to, to get help for friends, and family.
