Donate food and leave early for lunch

By Camille Lyon Posted December 17, 2008

Lowry Leadership class will be hosting their annual food drive in a different style for one day on December 19.

In the past years, food drives have consisted of students bringing in their non-perishable food items to designated teachers as a class competition. In order to improve the amount of collected food, school administration and Lowry Leadership have decided to award the students with a five-minute early release for lunch if students bring in at least three food items.

Students will bring their food items to a line of trucks of which will be delivering the food. The collected food will be delivered to the ministerial organization.

The food drive will also be a class competition, so the class which donates the most food will be awarded the most points in addition to the early release for lunch on December 19.

Although the food drive will only last one day, leadership is hopeful that the new format will be successful.
