Entwistle returns as head soccer coach

Sometimes you can go home.

Mr. Chris Entwistle has been rehired as the head coach for the Lowry Lady Bucks soccer program. He served as the head coach of the program up to 2013 when he left to spend more time with his family and coach his own children. However, he always knew he would return.

“After leaving in 2013 to coach my own kids, I knew I wanted to eventually return,” said Entwistle. “Every time the varsity girl’s coaching position came open, I contemplated the timing and opportunity.  This time seemed like the right timing and a good opportunity. Having coached and/or refereed many of these girls, I feel like I know them and know what we have coming up to LHS for the next 3-4 years.”

Entwistle has an extensive playing and coaching career. He played four years of college soccer at Doane University in Crete, NE. After graduating with my BA in Physical Education, with an emphasis in Sports Management, he played semi-pro soccer for the Reno Aces of the MPSL (Men’s Premier Soccer League).

He has coached at all levels from U5 to high school varsity Soccer, including a three-year stint as the LHS varsity girl’s soccer coach from 2011-2013.

It is his own experience in sports that has motivated him to coach

“In high school, I had an amazing coach that challenged, supported and cared about me… he was a great reader of people and knew what needed to be done to get me to play up to my full potential,” said Entwistle. “He taught me the value, importance, and impact a great coach can have on his/her players. I have always wanted to pay it forward and help others develop the love of sports and competition that he helped me create. I love helping players grow, develop, and attain their own potential in all sports… but soccer is my true love.”

This year he served as a coach for the Lowry JV softball team and is also on the HCSD Board of Trustees.
