Killion said, “The very first time going, the very first time competing, we did very well. I was proud of our members.”

FCCLA is a fairly new organization at Lowry. Its members are involved in family activities.

“FCCLA stands for Family Careers and Community Leaders of America and so the members are involved in families first and doing activities that involve families and children,” Killion said. “It’s very important to have community service projects also. FCCLA also incorporates the textiles and clothing so some of them are involved in those projects as well as early childhood education.”

Killion and Rorex are very proud of their group’s accomplishments.

When asked if the program would continue next year, Killion said, “We are going to continue and hopefully get some new members involved next year and compete again.”
