Frosh football gets bucked off by Elko

On September 23, the freshmen football team traveled to Elko and definitely didn’t play their best. The Bucks lost to Elko 75-14 and everyone on the team is reeling.

Gabe Molina said, “We didn’t execute our game-plan very well and we suffered for it.”

The offensive line had trouble blocking the Elko defenders which led to the lack of points. Even though Lowry did score a few touchdowns, Elko always countered by returning the ensuing kick-off. Even when Elko would have the ball on offense, the Buckaroos had trouble tackling the Elko players.

Perhaps the most frustrating part of this game was that Elko wasn’t all that better than the Buckaroos.

Molina said, ”Elko definitely wasn’t better than us, we just didn’t do too great of a job getting focused for the game.”

The freshmen have a shot at redemption as they play Sparks Thursday, September 29, at 5 p.m. here at Lowry.
