Juniors-Sophomores pull out Powderpuff win

On October 7, Lowry hosted the annual Powderpuff game, which is always a fan favorite as everyone comes out and watches.

Just like every year, the game provided entertainment throughout, there were some angry tempers, and of course a couple of hard hits. The juniors and sophomores ended up pulling out the victory by a score of 12-0.

“It was a really fun game, and the competitive nature of the game was awesome,” said junior Alyssa Dendary.

Even from the beginning of the game the juniors and sophomores set the tone with their tough defense as they wouldn’t let the freshmen and seniors get anything going, even the offense was dominant as the seniors and freshmen just failed to get anything going.

The seniors and freshmen didn’t get the ball past midfield until the second half, and the attitudes started to boil over due to the frustrations of not being able to do anything for the whole game.

“It always feels great to beat the seniors,” said Dendary.

The halftime royalty provided countless laughs and entertainment among the people in attendance. The candidates this year were: Jessie Schirrick and Anthony Hummel, Alyssa Dendary and Colin Doyle, and Kylee McClellan and Beau Billingsley. Jessie Schirrick was awarded the honor of being king, and Anthony Hummel received the honor of being queen.

After the fun festivities of halftime were over, the juniors and sophomores continued their dominance through the second half, as Shelby Mckinnon halted the only threatening drive by the seniors and freshmen with an interception.
