JV girls find a way to get by Dayton

The JV girl’s basketball team managed to hold on against Dayton in front of a home crowd on January 6 in a nail-biter that concluded 32-31 in Lowry’s favor.

After having gone practically point-for-point with Dayton Dust Devils the whole first half, Lowry started to pull away from Dayton in the third quarter, leading the Dust Devils 25-20 going into the fourth quarter. Dayton may have scored more points in the fourth, but the Bucks held on to their slim lead and won the game by the smallest of margins.

“We played good defense which made them turn over the ball, and defense came with offense and everything just worked,” said sophomore basketball player Jasmin Landa.

Coming off this strong win, the JV is looking to improve on their season this weekend with games against West Wendover and White Pine in Ely.
