The JV girls went to Lovelock this weekend for the Lovelock Tournament with high hopes of getting off on the right track.

Their first game was against Yerington and the bucks were able to win that one in an easy game 33-5. Their next game was Fernley and they completely blew them out allowing only three points the entire game. They won a staggering 28-3.

Chelsea Herrera was really impressed with her team’s defense.

“Our defense was great and we played really well as a team,” Herrera said.

Their final game was against Lovelock and this was their toughest game of the tournament. The Bucks managed to pull off a win and remained undefeated for the tourney beating Lovelock 24-18. The Bucks accomplished their goal and have a jump on the season starting 3-0.

Jillian Albright was a big part of the Bucks’ tournament success.

Albright said, “I was really surprised with how we played together, considering it was one of the first times we have played a structured game of basketball. Everybody contributed in their own ways and I’m really looking forward to this season.”

The Lady Bucks hope to continue their dominance as the season progresses and are looking forward to their next game away against North Valley next Wednesday.
