Coach Skylar Estes has chosen senior Kailey Franklin for varsity volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week
“She shows amazing leadership through her leadership and actions on and off the court,” said Estes. “Her determination to push for a win helped the girls to pick up some really hard-fought wins. This year she is putting together skills that we have been working on the past few years she has been on varsity. It has been a blast to watch how she is growing as a player and as a leader.”
Coach Estes has noticed how determined Franklin is as well as what an impeccable leader she is. Franklin made varsity when she was only a sophomore. For the past three years, she has been dedicating hard work to becoming the best she can be.
Franklin enjoys the euphoria she feels not only when she’s on the court playing but also when she is with her teammates. Franklin was first introduced to volleyball when she was in 5th grade. She grew up watching her older sister play volleyball which left her mesmerized by the sport.
“I remember watching the high school team and being in love with it and I always wanted to be one of those girls and now I am,” said Franklin.
All of the practices after school and sacrifices paid off because she was able to make her dream come true.
