Kids and parents alike were cheering and screaming as Lady Buck’s varsity volleyball team earned their first home win on Wednesday the 16th.

Every point of each match was closely contested.

“A win is a win, but it was closer than I wanted it to be,” said head coach Mary Kay Pace.

The Lady Bucks had a close match against Spring Creek, 25-23, 25-17, 25-20. the Lady Bucks had new positions to learn on the spot with a couple of the girls being ill.

“We had a couple of girls sick, so I had some different rotations, which made it a little tough. They’re not used to that,” said Pace

Starting out in a close first game, Elisa Higbee gave the Lady Bucks a three-point lead with two aces along with Angie Herrera’s back-row kill.

In the second game, Herrera had four aces and led Lowry on a 14-0 run.

“Angie really needs to be complimented on that, she was the hero of the game I think. Whatever rotation she was in she did the job for us,” Pace said.
