Lady Bucks leave Lady Lions in the dust

On Friday, April 16 the JV softball team used their superior skill to defeat the Yerington Lions in a double-header.

Kayla Doyle pitched the first game for the Lady Bucks and overall did very well. Lowry brought their bats out from the start of the inning. First up Sydney Sundahl hit a triple and scored on an RBI from Ashley Lombardi. Cassie Klemish then scored Shannon Mclellan but was thrown out at third.

In the Bottom of the fourth Lowry started to wrack up their runs. Alexis Alarcon was the first to score, followed by Kelse Deihl and Sundahl who scored off a triple from Lombardi. An RBI from Doyle brought in Lombardi for the last run of the inning.

The Lady Bucks secured the win in the bottom of the fifth after Sundahl scored Sarah Custer and Lombardi brought in Shelby Wells and Sundahl on a single. The ten-run rule kicked in ant the game was called 10-0.

Lowry continued their domination in the second game, scoring ten runs in the second inning and securing the win with another six in the fourth leaving the score at 16-0.

“I was happy how we ended the game,” stated head coach Ty Lucas, “we started the game not mentally awake at all, it took us about three innings to work out all the mental errors. Once we started clicking we were able to play our game and take them out of their game.”
