Lady Bucks win one at own tournament

At its own tournament, the girls’ basketball team learned what it needs to work on for the season.

Carli Evatz, captain of the team, said,” The losses showed the team that we need to improve and it has helped the team come together.”

The Bucks finished the tournament with one win against Dayton.

They also played Damonte Ranch and Douglas which was a close game. Lowry finished the tournament on a positive note in a blowout win against the Dust Devils.

To begin the game, Lowry went on an 8-0 run. The starting five were on and they made those points in no time at all. The starting five; Evatz, Alyssa Dendary, Payton Naveran, Taylor Schwartz, and Kylee McClellan quickly set the tone.

Lowry left Dayton in the dust in the first half leading by 20 at the break, 29-9. In the third quarter, the Bucks expanded its lead by three taking the score to 40-17 going into the final quarter.

Lowry continued its dominance in the fourth quarter, winning the game at 48-29.
