In the month of November, the freshmen officers of Leadership put on a Freshmen Night. During this night for freshmen, teachers from all the different departments were there to give a little information on each.

Mrs. Knight from the Math department, Mrs. Grady from the Foreign Language department, Mr. Felshaw from English, Mrs. Pasquale from Science, Mr. Coles from CTE and Mrs. Rorex from the Art department were all present. All of these teachers described what types of classes were in each department and to find out which were best for you. They also fielded many questions. Packets to plan the student’s next four years were given to each of the parents. The packets included a chart to write down the student’s classes for the next four years and more information on what classes were best for them.

When freshman Natalie Norcutt was asked, “Do you think Freshmen Night helped clear any questions you had about your future classes? Why or why not?” Natalie replied, “Yes because it helped show what classes you need for a certain diploma.”

Freshman Taylor LaTray was asked, “What did you get out of Freshmen Night?”

Taylor answered, “It helped me know what classes I need and want to take for an Honors diploma, and how certain classes will help me choose a career.”

It is safe to say that Freshmen Night was a huge success and very constructive to everyone involved. It helped clear up a lot of questions for everyone, especially the students.
