Note: From Lowry Leadership Class

It’s that time of year again, time for the food drive at Lowry High. The food drive is done every year here at Lowry and it helps the Ministerial Association immensely.

This year food was brought in by students to their third-period class every day in a competition for a pizza party. During fifth period every day the food drive committee in Leadership picked up the cans and counted them. This year students were very enthusiastic and brought in a total of 1,680 cans.

The winning class was Mrs. James’ 3rd period English III class with 490 cans. Mrs. James and her students are donating their pizza party to the local soup kitchen to further help those in need in our community.

I asked Chase Estes if he had anything to say about seeing all the food students brought in every day he said, “It was really cool to see all the Lowry kids that helped and wanted to help with the less fortunate.”
