LHS to hold little kids cheer camp

The Lowry cheer squad will be holding a cheer camp for girls that are aged from kindergarten through sixth grade on October 15-17 and will hold a performance during the JV Football game against Fernley High at halftime. The camp will teach the girls how to cheer and get them into the activity at a young age. It gives them an opportunity to practice cheering and develops the skills for future Buckaroo cheerleaders.

“We try to teach them a little bit of everything since cheerleading consists of dancing, cheering, and stunting. So we try to incorporate all of that into their performance,” said Lowry cheer coach Diane Rice.

Both the JV and Varsity squads will teach the girls and perform with them at the halftime show. This performance and camp also serve as a helpful fundraiser for the Lowry cheerleaders.
