Lowry FFA results

Lowry FFA students competed in Reno on March 20, 2010. Many contests had over 20 teams and over 70 students competing in them.

Lowry’s FFA students won many awards. Lance Thompson won as many as six top ten awards including, 1st High Record Book, 1st Star State Farmer, seven hundred and fifty dollar Rocky Mountain Agronomics Scholarship, and third place for Job Interview. He was also awarded with Tyler Cooper and Trenton Montero for second place for the marketing team. Lance Thompson- Swine Production, Tyler Cooper- Equine, and Bryce Brumley- Beef Production were awarded Gold Proficiency. Silver Proficiency’s were awarded to Ashley Buckingham-Div. Livestock, Trenton Montero-Div. Livestock, Shane Bell- Beef Production, and DeeAnna Pasquale- Swine Production. Trenton Montero was rewarded first place for Prepared Public Speaking. Montero was also rewarded ninth for High Horse Judging. Tyler Cooper took second for POA. Shane Bell received second place for Extemporaneous Speaking. Dairy Foods Team took third place, Ashley Buckingham receiving seventh place, high individual. The Ag mechanics Team received third place also, with Chase Orr receiving fourth place, Quinn Norcutt receiving sixth place, Mitch Tiske receiving ninth place and Bryce Brumley receiving tenth place for high individual awards out of seventy students overall. The Meat Judging Team was awarded fourth place, and Shane Bell received fifth place as a high individual. Last but not least, The Floriculture Team took fifth place.

There were many more awards given to Lowry’s FFA students, these are just the top ten results. Overall, Lowry’s FFA students did a great job representing Lowry.
