On Saturday, January 28, the Lowry girls varsity traveled to West Wendover leaving the Wolverines with a loss on their own court. The girls played well enough to bring yet another win to the Lowry record, but it is undetermined whether it will get them into the playoffs.

According to coach Jack Smith, the varsity girls record sits at a season-high 14-4. However, they must keep it up for what they hope to play out as a state championship. Lowry won by eight points 49-41, a low-scoring win compared to the previous night against White Pine, a 20-point victory.

“We’re going to need a little help but we still have a chance at the championships. Our girls played solid, we were up by 22 most of the game. Betsy stood out giving us 18 points,” said Smith.

Following Saturday’s game, Lowry lost Tuesday night to Spring Creek in an overtime game. In order to make the playoffs, they must win their next game.
