Lowry High hosted the College & Career Night on October 30 in the Old Gym. It was an opportunity for parents and students to meet 40 representatives from colleges, government agencies, laborers, military, law enforcement, mining, and local businesses.

Mrs. Cherese Fifield is in charge of organizing everything. There is a lot of work that is involved from contacting all the representatives, to organizing how the tables were set up in the gym, to planning the date.

Fifield said getting in contact with all of them, getting their scheduling done, and getting their paperwork done went really well.

“Attendance wise we want to see more parents come and get involved. I think it went really well, said Fifield.

Justin Boldt from the UNR admissions office explained the many benefits and perks that he enjoys.

“I love this event, I love the opportunity to come and talk to Lowry High school students, I love the way it’s set up,” said Boldt. “We get to come the night before, get all of our stuff set up, and talk to families, and tomorrow morning we get to roll in and talk to the rest of the school.”

Senior, Celso Ruiz attended the event and found some career options.

Ruiz said that he discovered who he wanted to become in the future and there were a lot of options to discover and learn what you want to be.
