The Lowry swim team is gearing up for another season and has been practicing hard all for three weeks preparing for their first meet in Incline Village. They have been practicing Monday through Friday from 3:30-5:00 doing laps with coaches Mike Owens, Julie Street, and Fluer Jensen. Also, they’ve been in the gym once a week with personal trainer Chris Street.
They have a scheduled season of about six meets including the Aqua 5 championship early on and will take trips to Reno, Carson City, and Lake Tahoe. There are many new swimmers this year on Lowry’s swim team, mostly freshmen and sophomores who have taken interest in the sport. There are a total of about 50 swimmers on the team, making Lowry a versatile team with many different swimmers to compete in the many events at each meet.

It should be another great season for Lowry and if you plan on supporting the swim team you’ll have to travel each week because Winnemucca does not have a pool for competition use.
