The Lowry varsity volleyball team picked up a much-needed victory in a dominating performance on the opponent’s home court last Friday, October 1.

After struggling in the preseason, Lowry has come through to start off conference play with a below .500 record, but they are working hard to turn their season around.

“Our fundamentals are there, and we are talking on the court,” said junior defensive specialist Olivia Snow.

To start the match against West Wendover the girls took the momentum from the beginning and didn’t let up on their way to a straight-set victory 25-10, 25-19, and 25-17.

“We played really well. We worked together as a team and we were mentally in the game,” said Snow.

The Buckaroos are in action again on Friday, October 8 as they take on the Battle Mountain Longhorns. The junior varsity match begins at 5 p.m. and the varsity match will follow shortly after.
