May Staff Member of the Month

May Staff Member of the Month

By Yezenia Diaz Posted June 4, 2007

Well, it’s about that time of year again at Lowry High School, when we say goodbye to the seniors and hello to the upcoming freshmen when teachers cram the last bit of knowledge before summer and students frantically rush to complete the day. Yes, this month has been a hectic one and we still managed to have a staff member of the month.

We would like to congratulate Mrs. Marlene Killion on the honor of receiving the Staff Member of the Month. Here is a little bit about her. Mrs. Killion has been a teacher here at Lowry for 24 years, the brave soul. She has always wanted to be a teacher, and with determination, achieved her dream. It’s not everyone who grows up to become what they always wanted to be.

Now that summer is here, I believe it’s time to think: vacation. Mrs. Killion’s dream vacation would be to stay at a resort in Lake Tahoe. She has traveled to many places in the United States, but still chooses Lake Tahoe as one of the most beautiful places.

And how can we forget the most embarrassing moment? Mrs. Killion states that her most embarrassing moment is her tripping and falling in front of class. Now that is embarrassing!

Her favorite foods are the three P’s: pizza, pasta and pie, but she didn’t say what kind . . .. Her favorite thing about Lowry is the fall Homecoming activities. All the spirit and enthusiasm that shows in these weeks can make anyone proud to be a Buckaroo! Now to round this article up, Mrs. Killion will leave us with one of her favorite quotes: “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24. Once again, congratulations to Mrs. Killion and I wish everyone a happy May! Keep in the sunlight, this year is almost over!
