In the first game when the Lowry Bucks played against the Lovelock Mustangs, Lowry’s offence was led by players Jace Bilingsley who hit 2 for 4 and Gus Ramasco who also hit 2 for 4 with two doubles.
Senior Collin Messerly pitched two innings of solid relief allowing only two hits.
The first game went a lot better said coach Ron Espinola, “we lost by a lot less.”
The Lowry Bucks were off to a good lead in their second game against Lovelock Mustangs, 8-1.
Lowry’s big inning was in the bottom of the second when Dusty Kraft singled to hit off the inning he then moved to second with a lead from Messerly and to third on a fielders choice from John Wells
The Mustangs made a quick recovery starting in the third inning up to the fifth, changing the score to 15-10, Mustangs in the lead. After that, the Bucks slowly went downhill when the Mustangs scored a number of runs on the Bucks and finally ending the score 21-10, a great victory for the Mustangs.
Overall the team played pretty well together according to senior player Gus Ramasco, even though they were suffering from a loss of leadership from one of their senior captains Jamie Walton, who was unable to play.
“One player can’t make that big of a difference but it definitely would have boosted our team leadership and would have made our team a whole again,” said Ramasco.
