National Honor Society 2010 Inductees

On the night of November 16, 2010, thirty Lowry High School students were honored with their induction into the National Honor Society (NHS). There are five juniors who were inducted this year, Jonathan Landa, Sara Marah, Bryan Noble, Jacob Tobler, and Jessica Villarreal. Twenty-five sophomore students were inducted on this night. They are, Michal Arenas, Michael Billingsley, Tyler Brumm, Yoana Chavez, Sarah Custer, Michael Drake, Colleen Dunlap, Tori Echeverria, Marc Esquivel, Carli Evatz, Sarah Gillespie, Marion House, Jennae Johnson, Cassandra Klemish, Alexis Kranovich, Riata Kull, Sammantha Latray, Madeline Mitch, Daniel Pollock, Michael Quilici, Brady Riley, Matthew Ruehl, Alexandra Schirrick, Paige Thiede, and Whitney Waller.

Selection into NHS is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service. These thirty students have shown these great qualities, and their selection for membership into the club was by Lowry’s Faculty Council which consists of English teachers Mr. Felshaw and Mr. Setzer, and Math teachers Mr. Corak, Ms. Knight, and Ms. Marshall. You must be in grades 10-12 and must have attended Lowry High School for at least a semester to be eligible.

The new inductees were welcomed to the National Honor Society by advisors Mrs. Pasquale, Mrs. Hill, and also Principal Watts. All those in attendance were treated to an inspiring speech by guest speaker Nicole Maher who spoke briefly about each of the four qualities that must be embodied by those inducted into NHS.
