NFL lockout continues

The NFL labor talks start to turn out nasty due to the outcome of a work stoppage. The first hearing on the players’ requested injunction to block the owners’ lockout was scheduled for April 6, 2011. Kevin Mawae-President of the NFL players association has been accusing the league “of spreading falsehood and lies”.

The NFL players’ and owners’ feud has been taken to the extent due to the fact that it has developed into one of the all-time nasty disputes in sports, given their strength on convictions all the way to their power and money; they are now taking the fight to court. The league says that they have every right to keep the players from not working and also says that the court must wait until the National Labor Regulations Board rules on the claim that players did not negotiate in a good faith.

The fight between the players and the owners is complicated; the players had argued at more financial concessions. Now they both don’t agree to which laws apply to the case, the players are arguing for antitrust rules while the owners are arguing for labor laws. The owners and the players of the NFL are all in a big mess and fight amongst each other in a court case. The winner would have fresh leverage whenever talks on a new collective-bargaining agreement resume.
