According to a recent press release from the White House on April 6, 2012, President Obama discussed the importance of economic security on creating an economy that’s built to last for America’s women. Obama is encouraging women to further their education and to start the career they want.

“As a father, one of the highlights of my day is asking my daughters about theirs. Their hopes and their futures are what drives me every day I step into the Oval Office,” said President Obama.

Obama, later on, stated that every decision he makes is for this country, and their daughters and their sons to grow up in a country to be anything they want to be, and what they set their minds to.

The release stated that women are not getting their far shake, earning just 77 cents on every dollar paid to men. Women now make up nearly 50% of our workforce, are a growing number of breadwinners in their families, and are the majority of students in our colleges and graduate schools.
