Shaun Taylor hired as new Lowry Vice Principal

Lowry high is proud to welcome Shaun Taylor as the new Vice Principal for the 2022-23 school year. 

Taylor is excited to be joining Lowry next school year. 

“Coming back home to Winnemucca has been a goal for a while, the opportunity to work at the school that provided me so many opportunities and to raise my child in the same community that helped shape me I couldn’t pass up,” said Taylor. 

Taylor’s career in education began in 2007-2008 at Swope Middle School in Washoe County teaching social studies to 7th and 8th graders as well as coaching five years of both basketball and wrestling. He also taught four years of World History, Government and AP government. He has also been a leadership teacher and an advisor for many CTE programs. 

He then had a career change and spent one year as Dean of Students/MTSS coordinator. He was the principal in Wells for K-12 for two years as well as another two years as the Spring Creek High School principal. He then moved back to Winnemucca to become the Vice Principal of French Ford Middle School for a year.
