This year Lowry’s softball team has new players and new field equipment.

After last year the team lost key players due to graduation; Sam Rice, Savanna Carlo, Angela Dennis and Jacklyn Richardson. Last year’s records for varsity were 15-17, and for JV they were 14-3.

But this year varsity has added eight new members to the team; Dani Chavez, Chelsea Cochrane, Madi Gonzalez, Elisa Higbee, Taylor Johnson, Tashayla Northrup, Sidney Sundahl and Mary Vassar. “My hopes for the team are to win the state championships,” said Coach Dustin Christean. Varsity also has new uniforms and has added to the field a hitting academy, a new infield and two new cage nets.

Melissa Mckinnon, a senior who has played on varsity all four years of high school said, “I love the way it feels in the last out and you know you’ve won the game.”
