Through all the bad things happening it's hard to see the positive out of it. With so many people dying, being isolated and everybody's life changing drastically, we don’t take the time to notice the good. Quarantine should be a time to reflect upon ourselves and see what changes can be made.
Yes, Corona has taken away so much from us but, there are few things that we have the time to do. Being at home there are plenty of things to do that we couldn’t do before because distractions or important things had to be done so we pushed them aside. Now that there isn’t much to do arranging and organizing things at home can be done to take up some time.
Another thing we can do while at home is to spend time with family. With our everyday lives, everyone is busy with work, school, sports, etc. Usually, we don’t get this much time to be at home and it is a great opportunity to do things with family.
With some of the economic activity shut down, fewer factories running, fewer cars driving the use of fossil fuels has gone down. In places like Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago have seen less pollution and cleaner air. Carbon emissions have gone down by about 25 percent. Having cleaner air in places like China makes a difference because the fine particle pollution in the air enters through lungs causing health-related problems. The air having less pollution is beneficial for the health of the people who live there.
In Venice, Italy, the canals have clean water due to the absence of people and motorboat traffic. The clarity of the water brought animals that haven’t been there in a long time such as swans, fish, dolphins and other animals. The air quality also improved therefore the polluted water is clear now.
There are many things to be grateful for even through times like these. During this time many places are healing from the damage humans have caused to the earth.
