The NBA playoffs are here…almost

By Josh Shaver Posted April 17, 2013

As the NBA season is coming to an end, who will break away from the pack and prove themselves the best in the league? So far this year the Miami Heat have proven that they will be in contention again for another championship.

In the Eastern Conference the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, and Milwaukee Bucks have all secured a playoff spot. The Knicks are the hot team going into the playoffs right now riding a 12-game win streak. The Bucks are in the playoffs for the first time in many years. The Chicago Bulls will hopefully have their franchise point guard Derrick Rose back for the playoffs. Rose has sat out all season after having surgery on his ACL. The Brooklyn Nets also made the playoffs for the first time in many years.

In the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzly, Golden State Warriors, and the last spot is going to come down to the last week as the Lakers and Jazz are battling for it. The Thunder is hoping to redeem themselves from losing in the championship last year to the Heat. The Los Angeles Clippers, also known as “Lob City”, have had a really good year as well they have the potential to make a run at a world championship.

My prediction is that the Heat will win the championship yet again. They will defeat the Thunder in six games.
