UFC 145: Jones-Evans

By Wyatt Lester Posted April 18, 2012

UFC 145 is on its way with yet another exciting fight card and it includes the former light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans looking to get his title back from current champ, Jon Jones.

Atlanta’s Philips Arena will hold the event on April 21 with 12 fights. Also on the fight card is one of the best upcoming rookie fighters, Rory MacDonald fighting Che Mills.

The big fight is the title fight for the light-heavyweight division which is currently held by Jones. Jones is only 23 years old and has worked to get his title through constant stoppages and Knock Out of the Night awards that got him a lot of attention. But the big push to become lightweight champion was dominating legendary martial artist Mauricio “Shogun” Rua with a TKO victory at UFC 128. Ever since he has defended his title against veterans such as Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. However, his biggest challenge yet awaits him at UFC 145. Veteran Evans aims to gain his title back after a few years of being out of the running due to some injuries with his hand. After the last few preliminary fights that almost seemed too easy for Evans, he aims for the belt and by the looks of the match and his phenomenal track record up he might just be the one with his hand raised at the end of the night. He has wins over almost every big name in the lightweight division and has been around since his debut in 2004. The fight has the looks to be a fight of the ages and if I were you I’d tune in and check it out.

The fights look intense all around but all the focus is on the main event for the belt. So this Saturday get ready for a UFC to remember.
