The varsity boys traveled to Vegas this weekend looking to add to last week’s success at the Lowry Invitational. The trip also gave the Bucks the chance to see some of the new competition in the 4A Division 1

Their first game would be against a very good Basic team, which was in the 4A last year. The Bucks did some good things but came up short in a 72-57 loss.

In Buck’s next game, against Moapa, Lowry was on a mission. Moapa is the team the varsity football team lost to this season in the playoffs, so the Bucks were looking to get some revenge and show them how Lowry handles business.

The Bucks started off the game well but would pick it up in the third and fourth quarters. The Bucks were able to beat Moapa by a substantial margin, 60-30.

Jesse Studebaker said, “We started off slow in the first half, but did well in the third and fourth quarters. We moved the ball pretty well and did well on defense.”

The Bucks played well on both sides of the ball and won 56-38 wrapping up their Vegas tournament on a good note. The Bucks faced some good opponents and were able to do some good things.

Calvin Connors said,” We had our highs and lows. We got to play against some good teams and saw what we need to fix before we start our league games.”

Lowry has high hopes for this season and is looking forward to having another great year.
