An intense match was played on Tuesday as the Lowry JV volleyball team hosted an intimidating McDermitt squad.

Although Lowry had already previously defeated McDermitt, the Bulldogs like they improved and were ready to play.

After the crowd grew larger, so did the excitement. The game started, it started off slow. Each point was celebrated a little at a time. The third set was a close game. The lead changed hands repeatedly. The crowd went crazy when the score was tied. McDermitt ended up with the win for that set. The Lady Bucks then used that momentum to win the match in the next set.

Ashlee Barron, outside back row and outside hitter, said, “The team is really close and we have each other’s backs on and off the court. These girls are inspirational and I’m proud to say they are my team.”

Lowry JV had been undefeated against all other JV teams, but that came to an end Saturday when the Truckee Wolverines gave them their first loss of the season in a close and hard-fought match.
