What to Watch: BCS Championship

By Mickey Donovan Posted January 6, 2013

The wait for the two top-ranked teams is almost over. The 2013 BCS National Championship Game will take place on Monday, January 7, kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 pm ET.

The two teams competing for the Championship are Notre Dame and Alabama. Notre Dame is ranked number 1 in the nation and Alabama is ranked number 2. This is the first time the Fighting Irish will compete in the BCS National Championship. The game will be played at Sunlight Stadium in Miami, Florida. The odds are in favor of the Crimson Tide over the Irish. Both of the teams have a solid defense. It will be a defensive struggle between the number 1 and 2 defenses.

“They’re very big and they can move,” said Notre Dame’s defensive linebacker Manti Te’o. Alabama’s offense is one of the best in the nation, but Notre Dame’s defense will not be a walk through the park for Alabama’s offensive line.

Alabama and Notre Dame are meeting for the seventh time, the first since 1987. The game should be a battle between two fantastic offenses and defenses.
