Puffy feather jackets, wool scarves, and ear warmers don’t that sound like the perfect fashion recipe? Wrong! Winter is just another season to show off different fashionable styles and here’s what’s in.

“KNIT, KNIT, KNIT. Everything knit is awesome, from knit sweaters, knit dresses and even knit headbands are great. Leggings and boots are also always a great look during the winter,” said Allison Barron daughter of the owner of Shoreline. “Be sure to mix it up with both your bright colors and your neutrals as well. Guys look good in a more relaxed style with nice fitting jeans of great brands with some nice Sanuks and a sweatshirt, or even a nice flannel.”

Each ingredient to your outfit is very crucial to the whole look, and it’s important not to over-accessorize. Pea coats for both men and women are stylish, along with cute scarves, rockin’ boots, hot headbands and cozy dresses. Normally, winter is associated with more neutral colors like tan, brown, and black; this season color is part of a great fashion statement.

“I’m a man of colors, but not too crazy of colors. Colors like yellow. I have a relaxed style and I wear brands of jeans like RSQ, Lucky, and Aspire & Create. I usually wear them with a sweatshirt and some Sanuks,” said senior Heston Barela. “Also, girls look good in knee-high boots with skin-tight jeans and a pea coat.”

It’s not that anybody does not want to dress the best they can. Some people simply can not afford brand names. However, a fashion statement is not brand names, It’s the incorporation of the right items put together. The amount of money spent on an outfit is nothing to brag about, you can create a bomb outfit incredibly cheap these days, you just have to look at the right stores. Check out department stores like Ross, JCPenny’s and Kohls. They won’t let you down and you can get more for less.

You can turn any look into a fashion statement whether it took you hours or seconds. Incorporate patterned scarves with solid-colored shirts and add a pair of boots or slippers that tie in. Red lipstick adds a pop of color to the wintery days, but that’s typically for cities. So, if you’re feeling dangerous try it out. Sanuks, jeans, and a sweatshirt can also never do a man wrong as long as you fit your attire appropriately to your body. It makes you look fresh and ready. Nobody is stopping you from starting new. A couple of scarves, plenty of boots and a beanie, will do you right for the winter. Go for the gold and start new.
