What’s happening in Lowry Leadership?

NOTE: This story provided by the Leadership Class

So far Lowry Leadership has accomplished a lot in the 2011/2012 year. They’ve done back-to-school activities, monthly committees, a tailgate party, Homecoming and much more! According to Mrs. Grady, one of the leadership advisers, probably the most publicized event was the tailgate party during the Homecoming football game.

The tailgate party was for Kim Baker who was diagnosed with cancer about eight months ago. All the money went to help with her medical expenses. The Leadership class raised just over $2,000 for Kim within the 2 hours of the Lowry JV game.

Another big task the class accomplished was Homecoming Week. It was a week packed with lunchtime activities, daily traditions such as Powder-puff, He-man and much more. To top it all off, an amazing halftime ceremony took place, resulting in the crowning of Homecoming Queen Candace Comeau, and King Jace Billingsley. Mrs. Dawson was chosen as the Grand Marshall.

Once again, Leadership is hard at work on October committees such as posters, staff appreciation, student of the month, and much more. All of these committees are what makes Lowry Leadership what it is. No matter what day, you’ll find the class hard at work.
