Winterfest Wrap-up

Albert M. Lowry High School went on a world tour from January 31 through February 5 of 2005. On Monday we started out with Supporting Our Troops. The students and Staff wore camouflage, red, white and blue, and yellow ribbons to honor those who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces. During the Pep Assembly, we held a Miracle Minute to raise money to help pay the shipping and handling cost to send gifts to the soldiers. That night Bingo was held. We had many generous donations from businesses around town and we would like to thank you for them.

Tuesday was Rock and Roll around the world Day. This day was a day to show your rock and roll spirit. Kids and staff members alike dressed as their favorite rock or superstar. The Basketball teams played make-up games against Fernley at home.

Wednesday was Tacky Tourist Day, where you could dress as a funny tourist person. The Battle of The Bucks was that night at 6:30 in the auditorium. Freshmen basketball played against Spring Creek at home and JV and Varsity teams played against Spring Creek there.

Thursday was Cruise to the Caribbean Day. This was a Hawaiian type day. On Thursday night there was Karaoke in the auditorium. There were many great acts and everyone had a lot of fun. Herbie Cranell, our very own Honorary Buckaroo, even sang a song for everyone in attendance.

Friday was Blue and Gold day. Everyone went all out for this great day. The basketball teams played against Incline. Royalty was crowned at halftime of the boy’s varsity game. Heather Peraldo and Brad Hammon were crowned king and queen. Saturday was the big dance sponsored by the senior class. Everyone had a great time and it was a great ending to a wonderful week. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the week a great success.
