Lowry’s Wrestling team had a successful weekend in Fernley. The team won all of their duels in Fernley on February 5-6.

Ryan Nelson, Mitch Pollock, Gus Duncan, Jace Billingsley, Skylyr Bleck, Michael Billingsley, and Paeden Underwood all went 6-0 for their matches. They also had a duel against Spring Creek, who many feel are their biggest competitors. Lowry beat Spring Creek 54-21.

In the spirit of winning, the Lowry Wrestling team is successfully going through their season.

“It sends a message that we are working hard,” said senior wrestler Jake Maga who went 5-1, “Zone and State are looking promising.”

Winning these duels gives Lowry the number one seed for Zone. The other two seeds have to compete before they can go against Lowry. There will be seven schools competing in the upcoming events. There are only going to be five in each weight class competing for the state title.

“If we wrestle like we did at the zone duels, we should have no problem,” said Michael Billingsley, “but anything can happen.”
