Wrestling dominates at Battle Mountain Tourney

Varsity and JV wrestling did really well in their tournament last Saturday at Battle Mountain.

“We pretty much owned the mats, most of us finished the tournament undefeated,” said Gabe Molina.

There were nine teams there altogether in 2A and 3A competitions. During the tournament, there was no score kept.

”This tournament wasn’t very hard for us. We worked really hard and no matter what, we won. There was a score in my head, and we were over the top,” said Jace Billingsley.

This tournament is consistent with the team’s record this year as they have been very successful recently. Wrestling isn’t very much a “team” sport but Lowry is home to many very accomplished wrestlers of the state.

“We started to close the door on the 3A competition. We ended up winning the matchups we were supposed to win, and there’s still room to improve if we want to be state champs,” said Daniel Pollock.

The zone duals are in Fernley this Friday.
