Last Saturday, May 4, Lowry hosted the final track meet before Zone. The top four athletes in every event competed to see if they would be able to make it to Zone.
Lowry athletes did an excellent job and had finalists in almost every event. Senior Alex Schrrick finished third in the 100-meter dash. Cody Andersen placed in the top four for both shot put and discus. Raven Black tied for the fifth-place spot in the pole vault. Robert Stepper was in the top three for the high jump. The girls 4×100 meter relay finished within the top four.
Junior Drake Kavanaugh is a thrower and competed in both the shot put and discus.
“I did terribly, I could have done better. I do worse in meets than in practice,” commented Kavanaugh.
This Saturday, the qualifying members of the track team will head to Yerington to compete and Zone.
