Go to the homecoming dance or nah

Homecoming is the time for one of three major dances at high schools nationwide including a winter dance and Prom.  With high school dances comes the question, should I take my significant other to homecoming even though they don’t know they are my significant other? And, how should I ask them?

The answer is, homecoming proposals! Every girl out there is dreaming of a sweet, sappy homecoming proposal. Twitter has many clever ideas for the men or ladies looking to ask that special someone to homecoming.

The Twitter page, Homecoming Proposals, @HomecomingProp contains things like, “There’s no Fault in homecoming with me. Okay? Okay.”  In reference to the popular young adult romance, “The Fault In Our Stars” or “Kick it with me at homecoming?” for the soccer babes.

With these cute proposals comes the heartbreaking, tear-jerking “no.” For a guy to put his heart on the line and ask his crush, or girlfriend is hard, but to be denied is painful, especially if your girlfriend is rejecting you.   So should you take a date to homecoming? Most people will tell you no date; a date will hold you back from dancing with multiple people. I say just don’t go to homecoming, avoid the awkward grinding and stay home watching movies and eating food.

So do as you wish, go to homecoming, don’t, whatever. But Lowry let’s keep it classy.
