Academic Challenge Team takes third at state

The academic challenge team, unfortunately, could not win the state title as they took third while Spring Creek took first and Dayton placed second.

The team has been studying hard all year long for the opportunity to repeat as state champions but fell just short to the intellect of Spring Creek and Dayton. Lowry hoped to impress onlookers in their home classroom but it was just not their day.

Ian Maher has been part of the academic challenge team since his freshman year. If you are ever in need of someone to answer a question for you in Trivia Crack, Ian is your man. Maher said he is happy with the season despite the loss and can not wait for next year.

“I thought we had a good year and it was too bad we lost to Dayton at state. It was a close game and it was a good season,” said Maher.

The Academic Challenge team are looking to destroy the competition next year and in the meantime will continue being the 4.0 students that they are.
