High hopes for golf as they look to reclaim state title

Last year’s season ended in heartbreaking fashion as boy’s golf lost to Faith Lutheran in the state tournament and fell just short of their fourth state title in a row. Now, Lowry golf returns with their eyes set on the state title.

Lowry has several new golfers on the team this year and they will complement the senior and junior golfers well. Freshman Dalton Irons is one of those newcomers and is ecstatic to be part of the program.

“I’m glad I get to be on the team this year, and I’m looking forward to playing in the tournaments with the rest of my teammates,” said Irons.

Hunter Dimock is a returning senior who believes the team is very well-rounded this year and has the ability to win the state tournament.

“Our main goal is to win the Northern Division. We have a solid team and should have the talent to make a run at state,” said Dimock.

The season begins with the varsity tournament in Dayton on Thursday, March 12.
