The varsity boy’s soccer team lost a tough contest against Elko, by a score of 3-1, on Wednesday, during Homecoming week. The team aims to learn from this loss and go through the rest of the season challenging the top teams.

Senior, Joseph Mullis hopes to win their next game.

“We all did a good job of pressuring the ball and passing, but we need to communicate better because when our whole team isn’t in sync, we don’t play our best,” Mullis explained.

Senior, Jesus Escobedo also believes it was a team effort, or lack thereof that ultimately ended in their unfortunate loss.

“We had some lazy players, which had a big impact on our game. Our first half was much better than our second. I mean, we only scored once, so there is obviously much room for improvement,” Escobedo said.

Varsity boys will be playing Truckee and Sparks over the weekend and will be looking to take these top two teams down a peg.
